Suspicious Death Of Victoria Joanne Crow Shoe

Victoria Crow Shoe

Victoria Joanne Crow Shoe

Pincher Creek, Alberta — The RCMP are still seeking public information in the homicide of Victoria (Vickie) Joanne Crow Shoe. Her body was found on shores of Oldman River Reservoir in September 2015.

The Oldman River Reservoir is an on-stream storage facility that serves to stabilize water levels for many users in southern Alberta. Located in Eastern Slopes (Es1) Zone, Alberta, it spans 2203.2 hectares (approximately 5444 acres or 22 square kilometers).

Vickie Crow Shoe was last seen on Monday, August 31, 2015. While her body was discovered on September 13, 2015, RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigators have determined that she was likely put into the Reservoir shortly after August 31, 2015.

In 2018, the RCMP released information related to this investigation as follows: Investigators believe that Vickie Crow Shoe's body was bound by a rope before she was put in the water. The rope is of kernmantle construction and is white with two black tracers in the sheath weave.

Investigators released a photo of the rope in the hope someone will recognize it.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP tip line at 403-343-5582 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
